Sign Of Life Released

It's been a long time coming, and quite an adventure, but my album is finally done and available for digital download! I was seduced by technology-based music way back in the 80s and I suppose this album is the culmination of two-and-a-half decades of enraptured frustration. A slow, compelling, and unrelenting burn.
It’s the project which just wouldn’t die, and so has crossed many phases of my life. Composed and recorded in various bedroom studios over the years, it required the kind of lengthy, focussed and intense bursts of application only practical from time to time in a world demanding much less of me than music.

In 2011 I upgraded the bedroom studio to a purpose-built recording and mixing space. Designed and built with my own hands, it became a kind of adventure within an adventure. It was in this space that I set about finalising the arrangements and recording of all the tracks – many had been conceptualised as far back as the early 2000s, and all have been through several incarnations since.

I'm obsessed with music production, inspired by sound. Attention to the detail of the arrangements has been an extremely intricate process, and underpins this journey into what I like to call 'songscapes'. I’ve had amazing support and feedback from many wonderful people, including world-renowned mastering engineer Bob Katz; like he and a few others have, I hope you get a chance to appreciate the album in its entirety, comfortably seated in prime stereo position in front of the very best sound system you can lay your ears on.

And of course a big, big thank you to all those who have contributed musically and/or supported me in whatever capacity and/or put up with me throughout!

Oh yeah – please share!
